Tidbits: March 10, 2011

10 Mar

I like to tweet interesting links I find, but sometimes those get lost in the shuffle, or I want to reference them later and can’t find them again. So, like many bloggers, I think I’ll occasionally make a post with those items, and I’ll call them Tidbits!

Love Wins – A Review of Rob Bell’s New Book – Tim Challies (the king of this kind of post with his A La Carte) has read Rob Bell’s new book, and folks: it’s as bad as we feared. Read on to understand if you’re not familiar with the controversy.

Universalism As A Lure? The Emerging Case of Rob Bell – Dr. Albert Mohler has some wise words on the subject as well. This article is from several days ago, and is not a book review, but is nonetheless very helpful.

Dr. Tim Keller at Belhaven University – Lemuria bookstore in Jackson, MS, recently hosted Tim Keller in support of his new book, King’s Cross, and he spoke at Belhaven, a much larger venue than the bookstore itself! We couldn’t go because it’s hard to find a babysitter on Thursday night when everyone else is looking for a babysitter for the same event! Thankfully the talk is online.

A.W. Pink’s Saving Faith is free to download for Kindle or Nook right now from Monergism. Get it while you can!

Zombie Ants Found with New Mind-Control Fungi – Warning: This is kind of yucky, as my three-year-old would say. @JennQPublic tweeted this link and I stared in slack-jawed horror at the sheer grossness of the photos. But once I got over that, I marveled, yet again, at how awesome and, well, creative our Creator is! National Geographic calls this fungi “new,” but I suspect they mean new-to-us, because there’s no telling what God has made that we don’t yet know about. Its’ exciting! If a little ooky. ;)
