Book of the Month: February

1 Mar

This was tough. I had a rough month, reading-wise. I just couldn’t seem to settle on a book I really loved (except one) and I started and stopped several. I finally settled on one I’m enjoying very much, but it’s taking me forever to get through. As a result, my finished books list is pitifully small. But, I committed to choosing the best book I read each month, so here I am!

And this one was easy to choose. Very easy, since I adored the book. It got a whole-hearted five stars from me!

I loved this book, and I recommend it to anyone who loves Jane Austen, BBC dramas, all things English, a good chick lit love story, or Mr. Darcy!

Here’s my full list for the month, pitiful as it is…

1. Austenland  – Shannon Hale
2. Falling in Love with English Boys – Melissa Jensen
3. Who Is My Shelter? – Neta Jackson
4. God’s Promises Devotional Journal (full and enthusiastic review coming soon!)

Books for February: 4
Books for 2011: 11

Sounds like you had a book month like I did…ugh…I am in misery when I don’t have a good book. I think I read Austenland a few years ago and thought it was good…for chick-lit, that is. Just pure fun especially for someone who thinks Mr. Darcy and Mr Knightly are swoonworthy. :)

I’m hoping March is a better month! Right now I’m reading a re-telling of P&P from Darcy’s perspective, “An Assembly Such as This,” and I’m enjoying it. I think it might make him out to be more of a romantic than he really was, though.

Thanks for the comment! I hope you’ll stick around!
